Ethics and Editorial Practices
The Revista de Otorrinolaringología y Cirugía de Cabeza y Cuello abides by the principles of transparency and good practices in academic publishing published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) (https://publicationethics.org/resources/translated-resources/espan%C3%B5l-principios-de-transparencia-y-mejores-pr%C3%A1cticas-en ) and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) (https://doaj.org/apply/guide/ ), in order to achieve good academic practices and thus ensure that all parties involved, including the editorial team, reviewers and authors, comply with the ethical standards of scientific publications, including the following points:
- All authors have contributed significantly to the research.
- All authors are obliged to provide retractions or corrections of errors, if detected.
-The journal has an editorial board whose members are experts in the field and this has been clearly confirmed.
- Authors must provide information on funding.
- It is forbidden to publish the same research in more than one journal.
- All articles are peer reviewed by expert reviewers (single blind).
- Reviewers must not have any conflicts of interest. Reviewed articles will be treated confidentially before publication. The editors will take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of articles in which research misconduct has occurred. In no case will such misconduct be permitted, nor will they knowingly allow it to occur. In the event that the Editor-in-Chief, editors, or reviewers become aware of any allegations of research misconduct, the allegations will be dealt with appropriately.
-The editors will always be willing to issue corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when necessary.
-Information on ownership and/or management of a journal is clearly stated on the journal's website (names of organizations that might mislead potential authors and editors as to the nature of the journal's ownership are not used in the ownership information).
