Abstract

Leishmaniasis comprises a group of diseases caused by protozoa of the Leishmania genus. It is endemic in Asia, Africa, and South America, and is very uncommon in Chile. It may cause severe upper airway involvement and mimic neoplastic otorhinolaryngological diseases. Due to increasing migration from endemic regions, physicians in non-endemic countries should be aware of this condition. We present a rare and diagnostically challenging clinical case that should be considered among differential diagnoses.
