Abstract
Squamous cell carcinoma of the external auditory canal is a rare and poorly understood malignancy due to its low incidence. It often presents with nonspecific symptoms that can mimic benign conditions, leading to delayed diagnosis. At advanced stages, both quality of life and prognosis may be significantly affected by the extent of the disease or the morbidity associated with surgical intervention. This article presents the case of a patient with a prolonged history of auditory blockage, ultimately diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the left external auditory canal. The patient was initially treated with radiotherapy; however, due to tumor recurrence, salvage surgery was performed. This report seeks to contribute to the growing body of literature on this rare entity and to underscore the importance of early detection through increased clinical awareness and further research.
