Abstract

The authors' experience in the handling of maxillo mandibular malformations by orthodontic surgical methods is shown. A sample of 38 patients treated in private practice grouped by age, gender and diagnostic categories is presented. A summarized protocol of diagnosis and treatment is proposed. Surgical aspects of the different modalities of treatment are discussed. The cases considered as complications are communicated and the therapeutic measures for those patients are discussed. Some recommendations for safe orthognatic surgical practice are given as conclusions.
