Epidemiological analysis of otolaryngology outpatient pathology at San Juan de Dios’s Hospital

Abstract
Introduction: The otolaryngology pathology has a high incident. Aim: To know the outpatient pathology frequency that allows the creation of suitable permanent training programs. Methods: Retrospective study. Analysis of outpatient daily attention sheets during 2006 at San Juan de Dios’s Hospital. Results: The most frequent pathology is the otologic, which represents 50% of the consultations. Individually, the most common pathology is chronic otitis media, followed tonsilar and adenoid pathology and rhinitis. Conclusions: There has been a displacement of the infectious pathology towards the chronic inflammatory pathology.
