Abstract

The larynx carcinosarcoma is a rare biphasic tumor that represents less than 1% of all malignant tumors of the larynx. Because of its biphasic epithelial and mesenchymal nature this neoplasm has been called in different ways in the literature being indispensable the study by immunohistochemistry to establish a proper diagnosis. We present 2 cases of larynx carcinosarcoma confirmed by immunohistochemical study, both treated with total laryngectomy.
